Great Authors Series: Melville and Legacy | Online Speaking Club

It's a common misconception that Herman Melville, author of Moby Dick, died poor and unknown. He died nether poor nor unknown, hoever, he had fallen into obscurity as a writer, and it was pnly after his death that a revival of interest in Moby Dick would put Melville on the list of great American authors alongside Alcott and Hawthorne. How did it come to be that Melville was uncelebrated in his time but loved by a later generation? What does this mean for artists and the art that they create? Join us this week to discuss all things Melville and legacy!
