America House Lviv is launching a new Community Connect Leadership Program for proactive young people in Lviv who are ready to grow as leaders and make a real impact in their communities. If you are looking for ways to develop your leadership skills, connect with like-minded peers, and turn your ideas into meaningful action — this program is for you.

Community Connect is designed to support and empower young Ukrainians by giving them the tools, mentorship, and space to design and implement community projects that bring positive change to Lviv and beyond.

We are looking for active, motivated young people from Lviv who want to take responsibility, build their leadership potential, and contribute to the well-being of their communities.

Program duration: February 2026 – May 2026

By participating in the program you will:

  • Travel, meet new communities, and grow professionally through immersive program activities across Ukraine.

  • Design and launch your own community project with the support of experienced mentors — a real initiative that can already start changing your community during the program.

  • Equip yourself with practical leadership and crisis-management skills needed to lead in challenging times.

  • Discover your unique strengths and leadership style through guided self-reflection and teamwork.

  • Build self-confidence, self-awareness, and resilience — key foundations of authentic leadership.

  • Develop creative and strategic thinking to solve real-world problems.

  • Strengthen your skills in project management, planning, outreach, and communication.

  • Explore U.S.-inspired approaches to civic engagement and community service and learn how to apply them locally.

  • Create social and cultural impact by turning ideas into action in your own neighborhood.

  • Join a supportive network of like-minded peers who will become your friends, collaborators, and future changemakers.

Apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are Ukrainian and reside in Lviv or able to come to Lviv for the offline part. 

  • You are between 18 and 22 years old. 

  • You are passionate about creating a positive social and cultural impact in your communities. 

  • You have initial ideas for community and cultural projects that can be implemented in 4-6 weeks. 

  • You have a good command of written and spoken English, as parts of the program will be conducted in English.  

Participation in the Program is free of charge, because all opportunities from America House are free.

The program will be implemented at America House Lviv, as well as at America House Kyiv and America House Odesa.

FAQs

How will you select participants for this program?

Participants for this program will be chosen based on their submitted application forms. Selection criteria include the applicant's motivation, expectations, and the overall quality of their application. Please note that not everyone who applies will be selected to participate. 


Is this an online or an offline initiative?

The Program will be conducted offline in Lviv. 

I'm not currently enrolled in any university. Am I allowed to apply?

Yes, if you’re between 18 and 22 years old and meet other eligibility criteria, you are welcome to apply. 

Is it necessary to have a project idea in mind when applying for this program?

It's not required to have a project idea before applying for the program. You'll have the opportunity to develop your cornerstone project and its concept collaboratively with other participants throughout the program's duration. 

America House Lviv is an open community hub that creates opportunities for young people and active citizens to learn, connect, and grow. It hosts free educational programs, talks, film screenings, language clubs, and workshops that promote leadership, civic engagement, media literacy, and cultural exchange between Ukraine and the United States. It is a place where people meet like-minded peers, develop ideas, and turn them into projects that strengthen local communities.
